Drug intelligence / Profile preview
UMAB229 is a mouse monoclonal antibody (clone UMAB229) developed by OriGene Technologies for the detection of Programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) using immunohistochemistry (IHC). It is part of the UltraMAB series, which are antibodies specifically screened for high sensitivity and specificity in diagnostic applications. UMAB229 is used to evaluate PD-L1 expression in both tumor cells and immune cells, which is a critical biomarker for determining patient eligibility for PD-1/PD-L1 targeted immunotherapies. In comparative studies presented at AACR 2018, UMAB229 demonstrated staining performance comparable or superior to established FDA-approved clones such as SP142 and 28-8 across multiple indications, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), bladder cancer, and melanoma.
