uMAT-ADSC-exo refers to exosomes derived from adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) isolated from uninvolved mesenteric adipose tissue (uMAT) of patients with Crohn's disease. In research contexts, these exosomes are often used as a control or comparator for exosomes derived from "creeping fat" (CrF). Studies have shown that these exosomes contain specific microRNAs, such as miR-132-3p, which regulate lymphatic endothelial cell functions (proliferation, migration, and tube formation) via the RASA1/ERK1/2 signaling pathway. While primarily a research tool to understand the pathophysiology of Crohn's disease and mesenteritis, the study of these vesicles provides insights into potential therapeutic targets for improving lymphatic drainage and alleviating intestinal inflammation.
