Overview
Umbilical cord blood mononuclear cell gel is a cell therapy product consisting of mononuclear cells (MNCs) isolated from human umbilical cord blood and formulated into a gel for topical application. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of refractory diabetic foot ulcers (DFU). The therapeutic mechanism involves the paracrine secretion of various growth factors and cytokines by the MNCs, which helps to restore the local repair microenvironment, promote angiogenesis, and accelerate wound healing. In clinical research, it is often evaluated in combination with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to enhance its regenerative effects by providing a scaffold and additional growth factors.
