Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This investigational cell therapy consists of allogenic umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) produced under GMP conditions by Bakirkoy Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital (SBÜ Dr. Sadi Konuk Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi) in collaboration with Istinye University. The therapy is designed to treat severe COVID-19 and associated pneumonia by modulating the hyperinflammatory immune response and controlling the cytokine storm characteristic of critically ill patients. Administered intravenously in three doses (on days 0, 3, and 6), these stem cells leverage their immunomodulatory and regenerative properties to repair lung damage and improve clinical outcomes in intensive care settings. The treatment aims to reduce mortality by mitigating the systemic inflammatory response and promoting tissue recovery.
