Overview

This investigational cell therapy consists of allogeneic umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) and is being developed by The Research-Clinical Center for Cardiac Surgery and Transplantology LLP. It is specifically designed for the treatment of non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy and chronic heart failure. The therapy utilizes the multipotent properties of UC-MSCs, which are thought to exert therapeutic effects through paracrine signaling, immunomodulation, anti-fibrotic activity, and the promotion of angiogenesis. Administered via intracoronary infusion, the treatment aims to supplement standard pharmacological care in patients with advanced heart failure (NYHA stage III-IV) and reduced left ventricular ejection fraction. It is currently being evaluated in the RegenHeart clinical trial (NCT04325594) to assess safety and potential efficacy.
