Overview

Umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells + secretome is a combination cell therapy and biologic product developed by PT. Prodia Stem Cell Indonesia. It is currently being investigated as an adjuvant treatment for patients suffering from severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and sepsis secondary to pneumonia. The therapy utilizes the immunomodulatory and regenerative properties of umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs), administered intravenously, in conjunction with the intranasal administration of the MSC-derived secretome. The secretome contains a concentrated mixture of bioactive paracrine factors, including cytokines and growth factors, intended to modulate the inflammatory environment in the lungs and promote tissue repair. This dual approach aims to reduce systemic inflammation and localized pulmonary damage, thereby decreasing mortality and shortening hospital stays for critically ill patients.
