Overview

Umbilical cord-derived platelet-rich plasma (hUC-PRP) is an allogeneic biologic therapy derived from human umbilical cord blood, concentrated to yield a high density of platelets and associated regenerative factors. Developed by the IVI Foundation, it is currently being investigated in the Phase 2 CURENDO clinical trial for the treatment of endometrial pathologies, including thin endometrium, Asherman's syndrome, and endometrial atrophy. The therapy works by delivering a potent mix of growth factors and cytokines—such as stem cell factor (SCF), platelet-derived growth factor BB (PDGF-BB), thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1), and von Willebrand factor (vWF)—directly to the pathological endometrium via intrauterine injection. These factors promote endometrial regeneration, cellular proliferation, re-epithelialization, and angiogenesis, aiming to restore endometrial thickness and improve reproductive outcomes.
