The conditioned medium developed by Prodia Stem Cell Indonesia is a biologic therapy derived from the secretome of umbilical cord-mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs). This cell-free modality contains a variety of secreted factors, including cytokines and growth factors, that exert paracrine effects to reduce inflammation and promote the survival of retinal photoreceptor cells. It is being investigated for the treatment of retinitis pigmentosa, a hereditary degenerative eye disease. The therapy is typically administered via peribulbar injection and has been studied both as a monotherapy and in combination with UC-MSC transplantation. Clinical evaluation includes Phase I/II trials and long-term safety follow-up studies to assess its impact on slowing progressive vision loss.
