Overview

Umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell (UC-MSC) secretome is a cell-free therapeutic agent developed by PT. Prodia Stem Cell Indonesia for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia. It consists of a complex mixture of bioactive molecules, including growth factors, cytokines, and extracellular vesicles (exosomes), secreted by UC-MSCs during culture. These components are thought to stimulate hair follicle regeneration by promoting the proliferation of dermal papilla cells, inducing the anagen phase of the hair cycle, and reducing inflammation. In clinical studies, it is administered via intradermal injection into the scalp to improve hair density and the terminal-to-vellus hair ratio.
