This investigational allogeneic cell therapy consists of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) developed by Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Administered via intra-articular injection, the therapy is designed to treat knee osteoarthritis by leveraging the multi-faceted biological properties of mesenchymal stem cells. These cells exert anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects within the joint microenvironment and promote the regeneration of damaged articular cartilage. Clinical development is currently focused on Phase I dose-escalation studies to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy of the treatment in patients with moderate to severe knee osteoarthritis.
