Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) from Shandong Golden Brick Biotechnology is an investigational allogeneic cell therapy. The product consists of mesenchymal stem cells derived from human umbilical cord tissue, which possess potent immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and pro-regenerative properties. These cells are administered intravenously and are designed to home to damaged tissues, such as the lungs, where they release paracrine factors to mitigate cytokine storms and facilitate repair of the alveolar epithelium. The therapy has been primarily evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for the treatment of severe pneumonia associated with COVID-19.
