Overview

This investigational cell-based and secretome-based therapy is being developed by PT. Prodia Stem Cell Indonesia (ProSTEM) for the treatment of keloids. The therapy consists of allogeneic umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) isolated from Wharton's Jelly and their corresponding conditioned medium (UC-CM). Administered via intralesional injection directly into keloid tissue, the therapy leverages the immunomodulatory and regenerative properties of mesenchymal stem cells and their secreted paracrine factors. The biological mechanism aims to modulate collagen production and reduce the activation of keloid fibroblasts, thereby promoting keloid regression. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials as a potential alternative to standard triamcinolone acetonide treatments.
