Overview

This investigational cell therapy consists of allogeneic umbilical cord tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) developed by The First Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University (also known as Xijing Hospital). It is currently being evaluated for the treatment of stage 3 or 4 chronic kidney disease (CKD) resulting from diabetic kidney disease or hypertensive nephropathy. The therapy utilizes the immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and regenerative properties of mesenchymal stem cells to potentially slow disease progression and improve renal function, primarily assessed by changes in the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). The cells are administered via a single intravenous injection at a dose of 1.0×10^6 cells/kg.
