UMC119-01-05 is an allogeneic cell therapy product composed of ex vivo cultured human umbilical cord tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs), developed by Meridigen Biotech. It is currently under investigation for the treatment of cerebral palsy (CP), particularly in newborns. The therapeutic mechanism is attributed to the cells' ability to migrate to sites of injury and secrete bioactive factors that provide immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and neuroregenerative effects. These actions are intended to mitigate brain damage and promote functional recovery in patients with cerebral palsy by reducing neuroinflammation and supporting tissue repair.
