Overview

UMC119-06-05 is an allogeneic cell therapy product consisting of ex vivo cultured human umbilical cord tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (HUC-MSCs). Developed by Meridigen Biotech (also known as Meribank Biotech), the therapy leverages the immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and regenerative properties of mesenchymal stem cells to address conditions characterized by systemic or local inflammation and tissue degeneration. UMC119-06-05 is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for the treatment of frailty syndrome in elderly populations, where it is administered via intravenous infusion to improve functional outcomes and reduce frailty-associated biomarkers. Additionally, it is under investigation for mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis, delivered through intra-articular injection to promote joint repair and alleviate symptoms.
