Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Umeclidinium is a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA) used as maintenance treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. It works by blocking acetylcholine at muscarinic receptors in the airways, leading to bronchodilation and improved airflow. Umeclidinium is administered via oral inhalation once daily and does not relieve acute COPD attacks.
