Overview

UMK-121 is a proprietary, investigational **co-administration of filgrastim and plerixafor** developed by Proteonomix to mobilize mesenchymal stem cells from bone marrow into peripheral blood. Filgrastim stimulates granulocyte colony-stimulating factor receptor signaling, while plerixafor blocks CXCR4-mediated marrow retention of stem cells. Proteonomix evaluated the regimen in a Phase 1 study in patients with end-stage liver disease and cirrhosis, with the intended goal of improving liver function through stem-cell mobilization, anti-inflammatory effects, and enhanced angiogenesis.
