Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**UniCAR02-T** is an investigational autologous, genetically engineered universal second-generation CAR-T-cell product developed by AvenCell. Its CAR incorporates CD28 and CD3-zeta signaling domains and recognizes a peptide motif carried by separately administered antigen-specific targeting modules rather than directly recognizing a tumor antigen. The cells remain inactive without a targeting module; when a module binds a tumor-associated antigen and engages UniCAR02-T, the CAR-T cells are activated to kill the antigen-positive tumor cells. UniCAR02-T has been evaluated as the cellular component of CD123-directed and PSMA-directed modular products in phase 1 studies for hematologic malignancies and prostate cancer, respectively.
