Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Uniplas LG is an investigational, universal, ABO blood group-independent, solvent/detergent (S/D)-treated pooled human plasma product developed by Octapharma AG. It is manufactured by pooling plasma donations from multiple ABO blood groups, enabling its administration to any patient regardless of their blood type. The manufacturing process includes a Ligand Gel (LG) affinity chromatography step for prion removal, mirroring the process used for the licensed Octaplas LG product. Uniplas LG contains a standardized concentration of human plasma proteins, including coagulation factors, protease inhibitors, and plasminogen. It is intended for the treatment of complex coagulation factor deficiencies, coagulopathies (such as those resulting from severe liver disease or massive transfusion), and thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), as well as for the rapid reversal of anticoagulant effects.
