Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Unison Enema is a hypertonic rectal solution containing 15% w/v sodium chloride, primarily used as an osmotic laxative for bowel cleansing and the relief of constipation. Manufactured by Unison Laboratories in Thailand, it works by creating an osmotic gradient that draws water into the large intestine, increasing intraluminal pressure and softening fecal matter to stimulate peristalsis and rapid evacuation. It is frequently employed in clinical settings for preoperative bowel preparation, particularly in gynecological and abdominal surgeries, to improve the surgical field and facilitate bowel handling. The product is available in adult (100 ml) and pediatric (10 ml or 20 ml) volumes.
