Unitob MF

Unitob MF is a fixed-dose combination ophthalmic solution developed and marketed by Jainson Biotech (India) Pvt. Ltd. for the treatment of various bacterial eye infections. The formulation contains two potent antibiotics: tobramycin (0.3% w/v) and moxifloxacin (0.5% w/v). Tobramycin is an aminoglycoside that exerts its bactericidal effect by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, thereby inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. Moxifloxacin is a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone that inhibits DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, essential enzymes for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and repair. This combination provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial coverage against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens. It is indicated for conditions such as conjunctivitis, keratitis, blepharitis, and endophthalmitis, and is also used for pre- and post-operative prophylaxis in ophthalmic surgeries.
