Overview

Universal BCMA-CD19 CAR-T is a cell therapy that utilizes genetically engineered T-cells to express chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) targeting both B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and Cluster of Differentiation 19 (CD19). This dual-targeting approach aims to enhance efficacy and prevent antigen escape in diseases where these markers are expressed. BCMA is a protein found on plasma cells and is often overexpressed in multiple myeloma, while CD19 is a protein found on B cells and is a common target in B-cell malignancies and autoimmune diseases. The therapy is being developed by Bioray Laboratories for indications such as refractory AQP4 Antibody Positive Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disease (NMOSD) and refractory Lupus Nephritis.
