Overview

Universal Donor Natural Killer Cells are an immunotherapy treatment derived from healthy donors who have undergone FDA-mandated screening. These cells are part of the innate immune system and can destroy infected and diseased cells, particularly cancer cells, without prior exposure to pathogens. They function as the first line of defense against infection and disease, recognizing and killing abnormal cells through various receptors. The therapy involves infusing these pre-prepared NK cells into patients, particularly those with cancer such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The cells are immediately available 'off-the-shelf,' eliminating manufacturing delays associated with patient-specific therapies like CAR-T cells.
