Universal iDAP (NCR201) is an induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived cell therapy being developed by Nuwacell Biotechnologies for the treatment of Parkinson's Disease. The therapy consists of iPSC-derived dopaminergic precursor cells that are transplanted into the brain to replace or restore lost dopaminergic neurons, thereby addressing the underlying dopamine deficiency and improving motor symptoms. The "Universal" aspect of the therapy likely refers to the use of gene-editing technologies to create HLA-null or hypoimmunogenic cells, enabling off-the-shelf use without the need for patient-specific matching or intensive immunosuppression. It is currently in the IND-enabling stage of development.
