Drug intelligence / Profile preview
uPAR-MARC is an investigational cell therapy being developed by Modulari-T for the treatment of solid tumors. It utilizes the company's proprietary Modular Antigen Receptor Construct (MARC) platform, which is designed to target cells expressing the urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR). uPAR is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored protein that is frequently overexpressed in various aggressive solid tumors and is involved in extracellular matrix degradation, cell migration, and tumor progression. The MARC platform represents a next-generation approach to cell therapy, aiming to provide enhanced specificity and modularity compared to traditional CAR-T architectures. As of late 2024, the program is in IND-enabling studies, with an IND filing anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2026.
