Overview

UQSC2 is a prophylactic protein subunit vaccine developed as an immunostimulant for the prevention of COVID-19 and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. It was initially developed by The University of Queensland, with support from the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations. The vaccine is designed to stimulate the immune system to generate protective immunity against SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for COVID-19. As of May 2025, its highest global R&D status is Phase 1 clinical trials, where it has been evaluated in healthy adults aged 18–50 years for safety and immunogenicity[1].
