UR-238

UR-238 is a novel small molecule inhibitor of Human Epididymis Protein 4 (HE4), a protein frequently upregulated in endometrial cancer and associated with poor prognosis. Developed by researchers at the University of Rochester, UR-238 exerts its antitumor effects by inhibiting cell proliferation, inducing M/G2 cell cycle arrest, and increasing the expression of cell cycle inhibitors p21 and p27. Preclinical studies in endometrial cancer cell lines and xenograft mouse models have demonstrated that UR-238 significantly reduces tumor volume and downregulates HE4 expression, highlighting its potential as a targeted therapeutic for HE4-positive malignancies.
