Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Uriexo Double Action is a Health Canada-licensed natural health product formulated to prevent recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs). It is a non-antibiotic, dual-action oral supplement that combines D-mannose and cranberry-derived proanthocyanidins (PACs). The combination works synergistically to inhibit the adhesion of uropathogenic *Escherichia coli* (UPEC) to the urinary tract lining. Specifically, D-mannose acts as a molecular decoy that binds to type 1 fimbriae (FimH) on the bacterial surface, while cranberry PACs bind to P-fimbriae (PapG). By blocking these two distinct bacterial anchoring sites, Uriexo Double Action prevents bacteria from adhering to the bladder wall and urothelium, allowing them to be naturally flushed out during urination.
