Overview

A cancer peptide vaccine containing epitopes derived from the tumor antigen up-regulated lung cancer 10 (URLC10), and in some formulations also from CDCA1 (cell division cycle-associated protein 1) and KOC1 (IGF II mRNA binding protein 3). The primary mechanism is to stimulate a cytotoxic T lymphocyte response against tumor cells expressing these antigens, leading to cell lysis and decreased tumor growth. The vaccine has been studied primarily for advanced gastric cancer refractory to chemotherapy. It is typically administered subcutaneously with adjuvants such as Montanide ISA51 or GM-CSF. Clinical trials have demonstrated safety and immunogenicity in humans.
