URLC10 peptide vaccine is an investigational cancer immunotherapy developed by Shiga University for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The vaccine targets URLC10 (upregulated lung cancer 10), also known as lymphocyte antigen 6 complex locus K (LY6K), which is a cancer-testis antigen overexpressed in various malignancies, including lung cancer. The vaccine consists of HLA-restricted epitope peptides (such as HLA-A*0201, HLA-A*0206, or HLA-A*2402) derived from the URLC10 protein. These peptides are designed to be presented by MHC class I molecules on the surface of cells, thereby stimulating a specific cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) response against tumor cells that express the antigen. In clinical studies, the vaccine is typically emulsified with the adjuvant Montanide ISA-51 and administered via subcutaneous injection to enhance its immunogenicity.
