Overview
Urogesic Blue is a prescription combination medication indicated for the relief of local symptoms, such as inflammation, hypermotility, and pain, associated with lower urinary tract infections or diagnostic procedures. It contains four active components: methenamine, which acts as a urinary antiseptic by releasing formaldehyde in acidic urine; monobasic sodium phosphate, which serves as a urinary acidifier to facilitate methenamine's activity; methylene blue, which possesses weak antiseptic properties; and hyoscyamine sulfate, a belladonna alkaloid that acts as an antispasmodic to reduce bladder irritability and hypermotility. Developed by EDW Pharma (formerly Edwards Pharmaceuticals), it is administered orally as a tablet and is designed to provide symptomatic relief for irritative voiding.
