Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Urokinase + vancomycin is a combination therapy used in certain medical situations. Vancomycin is a glycopeptide antibiotic used to treat severe bacterial infections, particularly those caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Urokinase is a thrombolytic agent used to dissolve blood clots. The combination has been documented for use in treating intractable MRSA infections, particularly in cases involving central venous access devices. Vancomycin 50 mg/mL combined with urokinase 1250 units/mL has been used clinically, though further stability studies are needed.
