Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Urokinase + ulinastatin is a combination biologic product developed and manufactured by Qingdao Kangyuan Pharmaceutical. It combines the thrombolytic properties of urokinase with the anti-inflammatory effects of ulinastatin. Urokinase is a serine protease that catalyzes the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin, which subsequently dissolves fibrin clots. Ulinastatin, a urinary trypsin inhibitor, acts as a broad-spectrum protease inhibitor, suppressing the activity of enzymes such as trypsin, chymotrypsin, and neutrophil elastase, thereby mitigating systemic inflammatory responses and tissue damage. This combination is approved in China (NMPA H20054010) for the treatment of conditions requiring both clot dissolution and inflammation control, specifically thrombolysis, pancreatitis, and various inflammatory states.
