Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Uromannosa is an oral food supplement developed by Laboratorios Q Pharma, specifically formulated for the management and prevention of recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) and cystitis. The product contains a combination of D-Mannose (2000 mg), a patented cranberry extract (Cranmax) providing 36 mg of type A proanthocyanidins (PACs), and Vitamin D3 (Colecalciferol). D-Mannose acts by binding to the FimH adhesin of *Escherichia coli*, preventing the bacteria from adhering to the urinary tract mucosa. The cranberry PACs provide a synergistic anti-adherent effect against uropathogens, while Vitamin D3 supports the immune system's response. It is presented as powder sachets for oral administration and is suitable for diabetics and celiacs.
