Overview

**Uromune** is a sublingual, heat-inactivated polybacterial mucosal vaccine developed by Inmunotek and promoted in Spain by Q Pharma for prevention of recurrent bacterial urinary tract infections. The product contains equal proportions of inactivated whole-cell strains of *Escherichia coli*, *Klebsiella pneumoniae*, *Enterococcus faecalis*, and *Proteus vulgaris*. Sublingual exposure to these bacterial antigens promotes mucosal antigen presentation and systemic innate and adaptive immune responses, including trained innate immunity, intended to reduce recurrence of urinary tract infections.
