Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Urshot is a multi-ingredient liver health supplement and over-the-counter (OTC) product developed by Daewoong Pharmaceutical. The formulation is centered around ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), a naturally occurring bile acid that promotes choleresis, protects liver cells from the toxic effects of hydrophobic bile acids, and supports detoxification processes. To complement the hepatoprotective effects of UDCA, Urshot includes Vitamin E (tocopherol) for its antioxidant properties, which help mitigate oxidative stress in liver tissues. It also contains benfotiamine, a lipid-soluble derivative of thiamine (Vitamin B1) that enhances energy metabolism and is intended to alleviate physical fatigue often associated with liver dysfunction. Marketed primarily in South Korea, Urshot is positioned as a functional health product for liver maintenance and recovery from exhaustion.
