Overview

URST1 inhibitor is a small molecule inhibitor targeting up-regulated in solid tumor 1 (URST1), a cytokinesis-related protein that is highly expressed in various solid tumors, including breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), small cell lung cancer (SCLC), and oral cancer. URST1 expression is associated with poor clinical outcomes and tumor progression. Inhibition of URST1 by this selective small molecule inhibitor or knockdown via siRNA leads to cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase, mitotic cell death, and significant suppression of cancer cell growth and invasion. The therapeutic potential of URST1 inhibitors is being investigated for precision medicine in solid tumors.
