Overview

URST1 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of Up-regulated in solid tumor 1 (URST1), a protein identified as a prognostic marker and therapeutic target in lung cancer. URST1 is frequently overexpressed in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC), where it correlates with poor patient prognosis and increased malignancy. By targeting URST1 mRNA for degradation, the siRNA inhibits the growth and invasive capabilities of lung cancer cells. Research conducted by the University of Tokyo and associated institutions suggests that URST1 plays an essential role in oncogenic signaling pathways, and its knockdown leads to G2/M arrest and cell death.
