Overview

USP7-055 is a small molecule inhibitor targeting ubiquitin-specific protease 7 (USP7), a deubiquitinating enzyme involved in the regulation of key proteins such as p53, MDM2, p21, and DNMT1 that play critical roles in cancer cell survival and immune evasion. Inhibition of USP7 stabilizes p53, downregulates PD-L1, induces cell cycle arrest, and promotes cancer cell death, with demonstrated activity in preclinical cancer models. USP7 inhibitors, as a class, are under investigation for their potential to enhance anti-tumor immunity, sensitize tumors to chemotherapy and checkpoint blockade, and suppress tumor growth both p53-dependent and -independent. No specific USP7-055 clinical or preclinical results are publicly reported, but it is presumed to function by the same mechanisms as other selective USP7 inhibitors, with primary indications in oncology.
