Drug intelligence / Profile preview
QX001S is a biosimilar of ustekinumab, developed by Qyuns Therapeutics and Zhongmei Huadong. It is the first approved ustekinumab biosimilar in China. Ustekinumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets the p40 subunit shared by interleukin-12 (IL-12) and interleukin-23 (IL-23), preventing their interaction with the IL-12Rβ1 receptor on immune cells. This inhibition blocks downstream signaling and cytokine cascades mediated by IL-12 and IL-23, which are key drivers in immune-mediated inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis and Crohn’s disease. QX001S has demonstrated pharmacokinetic equivalence to reference ustekinumab, with similar safety and immunogenicity profiles[1][2][3][4][5].
