Overview

UTAA-17 is an investigational cell therapy composed of gamma delta T cells that are genetically modified to express a universal chimeric antigen receptor (UCAR) targeting B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA). The therapy is designed for parenteral administration and is under clinical development by PersonGen BioTherapeutics (Suzhou) for the treatment of relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma as well as autoimmune disorders. The mechanism of action involves the engineered T cells recognizing and attacking BCMA-expressing malignant plasma cells, which are characteristic of multiple myeloma. As an allogeneic product, it aims to provide off-the-shelf CAR-T cell therapy using donor-derived gamma delta T cells[1][4][7].
