UTAA07 is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-engineered γδ T-cell therapy developed by PersonGen BioTherapeutics. It is designed to target the CD7 antigen, a protein frequently expressed on the surface of malignant cells in various T-cell and some myeloid leukemias. Unlike traditional CAR-T therapies that utilize αβ T cells, UTAA07 employs γδ T cells, which are known for their innate anti-tumor properties and a significantly lower risk of inducing graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). This characteristic potentially facilitates the development of allogeneic, "off-the-shelf" treatments. UTAA07 is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for patients with relapsed or refractory CD7-positive hematolymphoid malignancies, including T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (T-LBL).
