Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Utidelone ADC is a preclinical-stage antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) being developed by Biostar Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of solid tumors. The therapeutic candidate consists of a targeting antibody conjugated to utidelone, a novel non-taxane microtubule stabilizer and epothilone derivative. Utidelone exerts its cytotoxic effect by binding to tubulin, promoting microtubule assembly and stabilizing them against depolymerization, which results in cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase and induces apoptosis. While Biostar has advanced other formulations of utidelone (injection and capsule) into clinical trials, the ADC version remains in early development, aiming to leverage the specificity of monoclonal antibodies to deliver the microtubule-stabilizing payload directly to malignant cells.
