uTRACE

uTRACE (64Cu-DOTA-AE105) is a first-in-class radiopharmaceutical PET imaging agent developed by Curasight. It consists of the AE105 peptide, which specifically targets the urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR), conjugated to the chelator DOTA and labeled with the positron-emitting radioisotope copper-64 (64Cu). uPAR is a unique biomarker highly expressed in aggressive cancer cells but absent in normal tissue. In prostate cancer, uTRACE is being evaluated as a non-invasive diagnostic tool to grade tumor aggressiveness and monitor patients in active surveillance, potentially providing a more accurate alternative or supplement to repeated invasive biopsies. The drug is being developed in collaboration with Curium, which will handle commercial manufacturing and worldwide commercialization.
