Overview

UV-killed Bacillus coagulans Hammer is an inactivated bacterial preparation being investigated in preclinical studies for its potential anticancer effects. This biologic consists of the probiotic bacterial strain Bacillus coagulans Hammer that has been inactivated using ultraviolet light. In vitro research has demonstrated that the compound can induce apoptosis in human colorectal cancer cell lines by targeting apoptotic pathways. Specifically, it has been shown to decrease the expression of the antiapoptotic protein Bcl-2 and increase the expression of the proapoptotic protein Bax. It is currently an early-stage research compound studied in academic settings and does not appear to be associated with a specific company or clinical development program.
