UVAX-1197 is a protein nanoparticle-based prophylactic vaccine candidate developed to prevent HIV-1 infection. It is based on Uvax Bio’s proprietary 1c-SApNP technology, which displays 20 copies of the native-like, prefusion-stabilized HIV-1 envelope (Env) trimer in its wild-type glycan-shielded form. Unlike its companion candidate UVAX-1107, which uses a glycan-trimmed Env trimer, UVAX-1197 retains the full wild-type glycan shield. The vaccine aims to elicit robust neutralizing antibody responses by closely mimicking the structure of the virus and presenting multivalent antigens to the immune system. In preclinical studies, UVAX-1197 combined with adjuvant demonstrated safety and strong immunogenicity. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for safety and immunogenicity in healthy adults[3][5][6].
