UVAX-Lassa is a preclinical vaccine candidate developed by Uvax Bio for the prevention of Lassa Fever. It utilizes the proprietary 1c-SApNP® (one-component self-assembling protein nanoparticle) platform, which is designed to display Lassa virus glycoprotein (GPC) trimers in their native-like prefusion conformation on the surface of a single nanoparticle. This multivalent presentation mimics the repetitive structure of the virus, potentially leading to enhanced B-cell activation and a more potent neutralizing antibody response compared to traditional protein subunit vaccines. The 1c-SApNP technology aims to provide a stable, highly immunogenic, and easily manufacturable vaccine solution for Lassa virus, a significant cause of viral hemorrhagic fever in West Africa.
