Drug intelligence / Profile preview
UWD-03 is an allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy currently in preclinical development by Wondercel Therapeutics. The therapy is engineered to target Glypican-3 (GPC3), a cell-surface oncofetal antigen that is highly expressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), while showing minimal expression in healthy adult tissues. Unlike traditional autologous CAR-T therapies that use a patient's own cells, UWD-03 utilizes T-cells from healthy donors, which are modified to recognize GPC3-expressing tumor cells. This allogeneic approach potentially enables a more cost-effective and readily available 'off-the-shelf' treatment option for patients with GPC3-positive solid tumors.
