V-212 is a synthetic, peptide-based vaccine developed by Virometix AG. It is designed to prevent pneumococcal disease, which is any type of illness caused by infection with the bacterium *Streptococcus pneumoniae*. The drug is currently in an ongoing Phase 1 clinical trial to evaluate its safety and immunogenicity in healthy adult volunteers. Virometix raised $15 million in a financing round to accelerate V-212's clinical development, including preparations for a Phase 1b combination trial.
