Overview

V-306 is a synthetic virus-like particle (SVLP)-based vaccine candidate developed for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection. The vaccine displays mimetics of the RSV F protein site II epitope (FsIIm), which is a key target for neutralizing antibodies. Preclinical studies demonstrated strong immunogenicity and induction of palivizumab-like, epitope-specific neutralizing antibodies in animal models, with significant reduction in lung viral replication after challenge. In phase 1 clinical trials, V-306 was safe and well-tolerated at all tested doses in healthy adult women, inducing robust FsIIm-specific IgG responses that persisted for several months. However, no increase in RSV-neutralizing antibody titers was observed in subjects with high baseline immunity due to prior natural infection. The SVLP platform aims to provide superior safety, efficacy, and stability compared to traditional vaccines[2][3][5][10].
